Tracking the Evolution of the Information Literacy Training Needs in Faculties of Humanities in European Universities: Elaboration of a Competency Tree
This output is supported by a previous experience (a survey on information literacy skills conducted by ULSIT) that highlighted some issues. It will allow the partnership to focus in more detail on the framework in which we work. The involved universities will play as target of the analysis. A dedicated survey will allow to define the degree of information literacy of students from the participating universities in Bulgaria, Sweden and Italy.
The results of this survey will be validated in compliance with Europass digital competencies and the outcome will be summarized in a dedicated document. The partner institutions will select among the existing frameworks, models and standards for information literacy in a worldwide and a European context.
On the base of the survey results and the analysis of the models (a gap analysis for the development of relevant serious games, learning paths and learning objects /tools/) the partners will define an original competency tree around which a new syllabus for information literacy training of BA students in Humanities from the three participating universities will be elaborated.
